planes, trains and that lil weird tram thingy with no driver

I’m writing this from our rather oddly proportioned hotel room in London. It’s mad - the bathroom looks like something from a 60’s sci fi show, but enough about the crazy feng shui of suburban London and on with the post.
We have been traveling since 7 am and have to say that we have pretty much used almost every sort of public transport possible. The day has been somewhat odd in many respects, we had an auspicious start with a near traffic accident at 8 am this morning (if you are reading this blonde blue car lady - we are really really sorry - our taxi driver was a lil, ahem, special)
Our flight thankfully was a little less eventful as i slept all the way. once we arrived i was eager to check my mail in order to confirm the hotel details, London it seems is very shiny but really sucks for wifi access, we walked around for 3 hours in the oxford street area before finding a starbucks with net access for the rather extortionate price of £5 per hour - was not impressed. To his credit the dude behind the counter apologised before telling me the prices, surely there must be better wifi though? answers on a postcard please.
Leaving central London we found ourselves on the Docklands Light Railway which is really weird as there is no driver sitting in the front, it looks kind of like a stretched Luas, adding to the rather surreal situation was the fact that were standing in the station from the movie 28 weeks later which was still heavily barricaded and covered in CCTV cameras.
Eventually however, the bizaro tram left us outside our hotel, we checked in, Vinny started coding and i crashed grabbing a few hours sleep.
Tomorrow is the first day if the conference, I’ll post some first impressions in the morning.
take it h
Dave
sounds like a holiday camp!
